VI – Honey-Blue Agave hybrid brew

Yesterday was another brew day. This batch promises to be light and refreshing. I think.

This marks the first time I’ve made a hybrid, rather than mead. Since people love to name things I’m sure this mixture has a name…but honestly lets call a spade a spade. Or rather call a Honey-Blue Agave Nectar hybrid a hybrid.

For those tequila drinkers out their blue agave is the plant from which tequila is derived. However, never fear, as agave nectar is not what tequila is made from. Tequila is made from agave pulp/sap, and actually utilizes a bacterial fermentation rather than yeast. So if you had a bad experience once in Panama City don’t be afraid of this. Although at 11% alcohol you’ll have ample opportunity to create new experiences you’ll never remember. But facebook pictures are forever, so keep those camera’s handy : )
